: Rob,

: I agree with what Richard said. However it must be noted that if you are going to show the car at MARC or MAFCA meets then to get the highest points you must follow the 'Judging Standards'. The judging standards themselves say that they are not perfect and are an ongoing process that will never be finished. I beleive that there is a difference between 'original' and meeting the standards. Any one car may have an original feature that is wrong according to the standards.Do not get me wrong the standards get better all the time, in the 50's a well restored Model A would have an engine and frame that were polished smooth with a gloss finish. If you follow the standards you will make your car as close to the way it should have been when it left the factory as possible with todays knowledge. Now for the colors there are 6 combinations for your car.

: BodyUpper BackBelt/Molding Reveals Stripe

: Niagara Niagara DuchessDuchess French
: BlueBlueBlue BlueGray

: Arabian Copra CopraFrenchFrench
: SandDrabDrab GrayGray

: DawnGunmetalDawn DawnStraw
: GrayBlueGray Gray

: Niagara Niagara Niagra Duchess French
: BlueBlueBlue BlueGray

: GunmetalBlack BlackBlack Black
: Blue

: Blcak Black BlackBlack Black

: These tables never seem to come out right, I hope you can read it. If you do not use one of these combinations you will loose points in a MARC or MAFCA meet.

Thanks for your help. Since your reply, I purchased the "Repaint Manual" and "Paint and Finish Guide". However I'm still confused. The five color schemes detailed for the '28' Tudor do not seem to match the standard b/w photo of the car as depicted in all the publications. In the "Repaint Manual" the '28' Tudor is depicted with a lower body color 1/2 as bright as black and presumably Arabian Sand (dark) with a light color on the belt, windshield, and reveals. The stripe is of an even lighter color. The hood also seems to be lighter than the lower body color. This combination does not seem to match any of the five original combinations for this year. I have seen this same photo in several other publications, i.e. DeAngelis "Production Facts Book" page 102; and the "service Manual", page 23. It is hard to determine what the actual colors are given the b/w photo, but it is clear that the belt is a lighter color than the lower body and that the lower body is not one of the blue color combinations.
I am about 3 weeks from sending this car to the painter and still am undecided about color. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
