: Hello,

: I'm finishing my restoration of my late 31 slant windshield four door frame and have a few questions about adjusting the original brakes. Where do I start adjusting, I've rebuilt or replaced all the components including new shoes, tracks, bushings, etc. Secondly, I don't seem to get a clean pedal movement on the brake pedal. The brake cross shaft that goes under the drive shaft seems to rub on the drive shaft tube where the trailer arms connect. This seems to happen as the pedal aproaches the floor board. Any ideas?

: Thanks much!

: Dean

Dean,
once you have the engine up off the brake cross shaft there are several ways to adjust the brakes, one is covered in the video "How to stop on a Dime". Your local club may have it or can borrow it from the National club, or e-mail me and I will describe it for you. Good Luck, Jim McPherson
