: Does anyone know of any product on the market that maybecan be added to the gas that will either strip the rust off so it can be drained out, or solidify it in the tank so that if won't flake off and clog the fuel line?

Pete,
Many of us wish there was such a compound. If you have a car with a glass sediment bowl I would do the following: Place a filter in the tank (it fits in the end of the shut-off valve, unless you have a late 31; install a microfilter in the glass bowl; and install a modern filter in place of the filter screen of your Zenith carb. For one real bad case I installed a modern filter in the outside gas line until the tank was clean. Other than pull the tank and coat it, those are your choices. Good Luck, Jim McPherson
