float setting - tillotson carb

What is the proper float setting for a tillotson carb.I installed a carburator kit and the instructions indicated a 1" drop from the housing to the center line on the float when turned upside down.Problem - I don't have a centerline on the float that runs horizontal, its vertical.Also, the Zenith has a 5/8' drop.I'm not sure I believe the 1" drop is correct for the Tillotson.
