You do have quite a problem. If it was mine I would machine, file or grind off about half the knurl, all that does is hold the pin in the top portion of the hinge anyway and have you ever heard of anyone having one come out while on a tour? The second thing, and I assume the shank of the pin fits the pin OK and your only problem is the knurl, is to freeze them with dry ice. That will really shrink them and you should be able to tap them in using Bob's idea of a leather cushion and a block of wood. Good luck
