Ken,
Both can work.Some people suggest that you use a screwdriver instead of a towel.You might try a wooden dowel or a screwdriver wraped in a towel (to prevent paint damage). Basically you are trying to open up the hinges so the door will move away from the cowl when the door is closed.As with any adjustment when you get the door cowl spacing correct you may have to adjust other parts, such as the door lock post spacing.Good luck.
