Discolored Oil

I have an old Ford 8N tractor and I understand that the engine that is used is the same as the Model A Engine. I don't have a problem, but have noticed that soon after changing the oil, say a month or so, the oil becomes brownish/grey and gets a little opaque. The oil level does not rise (like water in the crankcas). I can hopefully live with this forever but was just curious as to the cause. Thanks Mark Jones.
