: My CB is fairly small Radio Shack model, and I removed the cardboard panel first, mounted the standard bracket it came with on the panel with small machine screws and large washers inside the cardboard to help prevent tearing.I ran the antenna wire under the front carpet along the passenger side to the rumble are, then across to the left-rear corner of the boldy, out a small hole to the antenna. The remote mike mount was from Radio Shack - I drilled a hole in it and mounted it on the lower right instrument panel screw.Good Luck!

Jack,

You must have the same CB as me since we have almost the exact
installation. It works great. As for the antenna, in our
club we all like the Radio Shack Single Trucker antenna. It
is real easy to mount on the rear bumper bracket with no extra
hole required. Also this antenna is designed to operate in
areas where good ground plane (flat trunk surface) is not
available (ie truck mirror bracket).

My concern for Larry would be the limitation of the 23 channels.
With most people having 40 channels you may not be able to
follow your group to a quite channel if things are noisy in
the lower 23.Not only that, the signal processing is so much
better today that a new radio might be the way to go from a
noise stand point. Etheir way, a CB ismust if your travelling.
Doug
