: Anyone have a good way to repaint original license plates without masking?Iowa plates are a dark blue background with white on the raised numbers and letters.I was thinking about spraying the blue, then rolling on the white with a foam roller that was rolled nearly dry to prevent runs.Is there a better way?

LARRY YEARS AGO I SAW AN ARTICLE ON REPAINTING PLATES. YOU HAVE TO USE LACQUER SPRAY ON THE COLOR OF RAISED # AND LETTERSIN YOUR CASE THE WHITE LET DRY THEN PAINT THE ENTIRE PLATE THE PRIMARY COLOR BLUE LET DRY THE USE RUBBING COMPOUND AND REMOVE THE BLUE ON THE RAISED AREAS USE CAUTION THAT YOU DON'T RUB THROUGH THE WHITE. IT TAKES TIME BUT IT WORKS
