BODY SOUND DEADENING MATERIAL

What should I use as sound deadening? I can use
Labaron's us6000or just plain old undercoating spray a black tar base product.I purchased Labaron's us6000
and was instructed to use 3M adhesive.but, the spray
sounds easier.any advise???
