>and set it so that it is about 1/4" from a good ground I can get a spark to jump about 1/8" or less, but not at 1/4". The truck has been sitting outside, so I have some cleanup to do on the contacts of the dist cap.Plus with all my cranking before trying to get it to start I've drained the battery down. A few years ago I brought back to life an old Oliver tractor, and it's main problem was bad wiring.I learned that 6 volt systems seem to be very sensitive to weak electrical connections. Probably is all I'm dealing with on this AA.I feel better now that I at least can get the coil to spark. Since this truck does not seem to be selling it looks like I'll be taking it with me to Milwaukee. So if you see a 1928 AA R Express on a trailer being towed in the next few months give me a wave. Thanks for the help. Mike (learning more about electricity and model AA's)
