The Hinge pins have a splined area directly under the head which does take a death-grip.The Vicky and S/W pins are also larger than the normal Ford pins which doesn't help.

There's a suggestion in the "How to restore" books for making a pin-pusher out of a couple of blocks of steel (tool steel for the bottom block). The top block is 3/4" thick and has two 1/2" bolt holes on either side of the pin center and a hole in the center for the pin head to pass through.

The bottom block is about 1" thick and has matching tapped 1/2-20 holes for the bolts and a hole in the center 1/2" deep for a drill-rod pin slightly smaller than the diameter of your hinge pin.

Start with the flat side of the block against the part of the hinge pin that projects out the bottom, and tighten the bolts evenly until the pin breaks loose. Then if need be, turn the block over, insert a piece of drill rod and continue to push the pin out,

Once my pins('31 S/W Fordor) broke loose, though, they came out easily with a punch.I'd avoid heavy pounding on the hinge, though, since the welds on the door that hold the hinge in place can be damaged that way.Obviously Heat is out of the question if you've got a show finish.
