Modern brakes take worry out of stopping and can reduce maintenance.... at faster highway speeds the juice brakes give a greater measure of safety. Having said that I also have cars that have the original mechanicals on them and because I keep them adjusted properly I have had no difficulty. When our club is touring in the high mountains, I always wonder if the car behind me has juice brakes or not.....
