1928 AA Express beds, what's right?

Posted by mike on February 20, 1997 at 17:48:36

I have a small (to me) dilemma.My 1928 AA R Express has a narrow
bed on it approx. 7' long.In a book someplace I read that later
AA's had a wide-bed version.Also in a book someplace (I really should
use more bookmarks) I remember seeing a photo of a '28 Express
with a bed that looked exactly like the one on my AA.

Now, a couple of people have told me that I have a model T bed
on the truck.A local Model-A restorer club member said it looks
like a correct 1928 AA bed.My AA s/n dates to September 1928.

How can I tell, or where can I get a definitive answer to the
question: "Do I have the correct bed on my AA?"

For me personally I don't really care because the bed on it looks
just fine. But since I have the truck up for sale, I get these
collectors who want a concours quality car/truck and who say I
have the "wrong" bed.So I either need to learn how to prove
that I have the correct bed so I can intelligently defend my
AA's current configuration, or I need to possitively identify
what I have so I can honestly represent the truck for sale.

Help?

mike.

And in case anybody is interested, the truck is for sale, and
located just east of Sacramento, California.
