Sounds like you have an original original. The valve springs you mention are apparently early FORD issue. The springs were changed in August of '30.

The early springs should be 15 turns with a free length of 3.44".They were superceded by the 11 turn springs wound on the opposite direction with a free length of 2.94".

Your cam lobes being more pointy might just mean they're not worn since the lifters are as wide as the lobes they tend to round off evenly as they wear. The stock lift of the lobe should be 0.303".

Matching the crankshaft to another set of main bearings in another block might be trickey.Check the Crank journal diameter and see if it's close to a standard size (standard main is 1.624" Std rod is 1.499"). A block with good undersized babbit could be line bored out if anyone in your area has a block mounted boring bar.

Possibly if your block isn't too bad an automotive machine shop could mill the deck to get down to a good surface.
