I bought a '29 2 dr. sedan which had set for many years. When I dissassembled the engine I found it had been assembled without a head gasket. The deck was badly pitted, but the engine had not been run to any extent(the pistons are std. size). It was clean and the components in the bottom end looked new.My question is can I use these components in rebuilding another block. The con rod bearings look new. The cam does not look stock. It has sharp lobes somewhat higher than in the other engine I have. The valve springs have more coil loops but the diameter of the coil wire is smaller than stock.Would it be advisable to use these components in rebuilding the other block? |
