Bryan,
By guts, I mean that the drivers side latch assembly in the door has a little "U" shaped sheetmetal slider which is moved into a position to block the handle rotation when the new 'lock' you purchased is moved to the 'locked' position. The "U" shaped slider is retracted from the lock position by means of a little clock spring which is also part of the door latch assembly. Drivers side latch assemblies have the slider and spring built into them; passenger side latches don't. I don't know offhand if a passenger side latch can be "upgraded" with the slider and spring. (I'd bet it can. Find an extra driver side latch at a swap meet to rob the parts from)

: Thanks for the insight Vince, I still dont believe I have the "guts" but it does explain why the "d" nuts are not installed on the passenger side of the car. I will now need to swap the door handles. What are the "guts", and do you know if they can be purchased?
