Henry,

I assume that you have already tryed the hammer/punch method. It is going to be hard to get the pin out without causing some damage to the paint. Use lots of penatrating stuff and let it soak for a few days. When you spray it tap the bottom of the pin which well help the spray do it's work. If it still will not come out then you need leverage. A simple extractor can be made using a C clamp. Take a bolt that has a diameter the same size or slightly smaller than the pin. Cut it so it is about 1/2 to 3/4 inches long (including the head). Pick a bolt that has a big flat head. Find a socket from your wrench set which has an inside diameter just bigger than the pin head. Put the socket over the pin head. Put the bolt on the bottom of the pin, head down. Use the C clamp to force the bolt up driving the pin out and into the socket. You should use a rubber/leather washer between the socket and the hinge to help revent paint damage to the hinge.
