: A friend of mine has a model a and says the engine is a model c engine. The car seems to run a lot smoother than any other model a car I have ever rode in.What exactly is is a model c engine? Thanks!

I have a B (C?) engine in my A, with a B ( A hi-comp. ) head. Sound confusing? The later engine apparently had higher compression too, with a better oil system, but I'm no expert on these matters. I'd like to be able to tell if mine is counterbalanced or not, maybe through serial numbers or something. Mine seems smooth until higher rpms, there is a point where it seems to vibrate quite a bit. The easiest way I know of to tell if you have a B (C) engine is to look for a plate covering the fuel pump mounting hole.
Cheers
Dan
