Russ The spring you are looking for looks like a clock spring. It is a spiral pancake, about an eigth inch thick. There are pictures of it and the latch both, in the 1934 & 1938 Ford body parts and trimmers catalog. They are plentiful at swap meets, but I don't recall ever seeing them in repro catalogs. They were widely used on V8 era fords, and other makes using Ferro latch mechanisms like all the 31 slant windows.
