: Anyone have a trick to remove stuck head studs? have tried liquid wrench for one week HAVE(4)which will not come out.
: would heating the studs help?

Hi GG,

Humble opinion -- been here often, it is not worth the trouble -- if you do not have a machinist friend to remove 4 stubborn studs, please call a local, reputable machine shop first, and then go with block, minimum 2 extra studs to align head, & engine head. Typical scenario: Liquid wrench, heat, ice, heat, more liquid wrench, frustration; turn stud too hard, stud breaks, drill stud using engine head for bit alignment, bit slides to one side, use "Easy-Out", it slips, or (sometimes breaks, !$*#@*!!, catastrophy), sometime pick out remainder of drilled stud with small cold chisel, completely ruin original threads; drill larger hole, drill bit goes too deep into water jacket causing stud to leak water when engine is running, re-thread block, buy and insert new threads, add up your hours -- even at figuring your time at $5.00/hour, the machine shop with accurate drill press, centering bits etc. is far cheaper, pleasant & temper friendly, and saves valuable Model A work time!.
