Bill, It is true that on steep hills, even double clutching is not always as effective as on level ground.However, I believe the key is not to pull or force the shifter into gear when pulling a steep hill.One thing I do in this situation, as I double clutch, I do not grab the shifter firmly, but rathertap it a couple times to get it in gear.By the second tap, it usually slips in gear with a only slight gear gnashing (but no where near as bad as grinding the gears.I'm no expert but it is just a thought on what works for me. |
