: We are the proud and very excited owners of a 1930 Ford Model A Five Window Coupe. This car is all original with 30,000.00 miles on it. It has been stored for twenty years. It has had only two owners. The interior has rotted a bit, and the exterior was painted all original colors in 1978.We know very little about these vehicles and less about driving and maintaining them.We are appealing to all the experts out there, please share your knowledge and expertise and stories with us.It would be greatly appreciated.
If the motor hasn't been rebuilt by all means do not use detergent oil such as 10w30 ect..Use sae 20w or 30w,you know the cheap stuff.Use of detergent oil will break down years of sluge, thus unseating the rings causing the car to smoke like atar kettle. The only option then is a complete rebuild. Remember this car was made 40 years before modern detergent oils were used.
: Thanks So MuchAnn and Rex
