The other guys have given you the accurate info that what you had is a curiosity and not a carb you'd want to spend a lot of time with. Get yourself a Zenith-1 or Zenith-2 if you want to stay "original".There are lots of them out there - buy one rebuilt or do it yourself (but beware that the rebuilding "kits" don't always have the correct parts - especially jet sizes).

Many folks swear by Tillotsons - they're available too new and used but a bit harder to come by and don't really offer much of an improvement of a good, restored (not just refurbished) Zenith-1 or Zenith-2.

By the way, the only difference between the Zenith-1 and Zenith-2 for most of the 1928-1930 and early 1931 Model A's is that the Zenith-1 was built by Zenith and the Zenith-2 was built by Holley.They're virtually identical.
