:You I really need a thermostat my Model A ?My A runs fine, doesn't over heat. I have a fan shroud, does that make any difference? Why didn't Henry use one? Thanks in advance,

Hi Hugh
Personally, I don`t see a need for a thermostat on a Model A. They weren`t used originally and I have never had any trouble overheating my truck`s engine.A thermostat, as far as I can see, is used to bring an engine up to and maintain a certain operating temperature which is kind of important if you ever wanted any heat from a hot water heater.Model A`s run somewhat hot anyway and if you have a heater, it usually is a manifold type heater.Unless someone found it to be an operating improvement for the engine, I would leave it the way it was originally produced and not use a thermostat.
