What does AR stand for?

I was at a recent gathering of vintage automobiles recently and drove my 1928 model AA truck. I have been told that its a model AR because of certain characteristics. My question is what did the AR stand for? Is it my understanding that there were first model Ts, then came model As. And during the A run the commercial trucks were called AAs. So is mine a AA/AR?
