Wellllll (in a Jack Benny voice)
Tillitsons vs Zenith is a matter of choice. I've had both, I prefer a well restored Zenith. I don't like Gros-jets, but do like viton tipped needles. The gas here in California is murder on most things, we even have to seal our cork gauge floats with tank sealer, as the stuff eats right through shellac.
ModelA carbs are simple, but precise. There was/is? a good small book out on doing them, used to be $4. Even though I'd done model A's for years before I bought the book, I found it had some neat tricks and was informative.
You do have to watch for warping on tillitsons, but it can be unwarped w/ a little inginuity. If it sounds like I'm wishy-washy on this, it's because I believe both to be good products and preferrence is a personal matter, I suspect! I still vote for Zenith! (Design, I know, both Holley and Ford also built the same carb.)
A's always,
David Dewey
