Hi Carla,

The safety issues you raised are certainly important. Actually, I was thinking of one risk scenario that you didn't mention, and that would likely also be mitigated by the use of seat belts. The door latches in Model A's are subject to opening in even a minor collision if the body is deformed. This is especially true if the latch and door alignment were not restored to original tolerance. In any case, one would not want to be tossed out into the road in such a collision. Further, I may be a worry wort, but when I see passangers leaning against the door during a left turn, I imagine the possibility of the door flying open and...

I know Buster Keeton would have no trouble hanging onto the opened door while whipping around the curve, but my passangers are just wimps.

So, same conclusion, seat belts are a good safety feature.
