The A-7085 transmission main shaft bearing retainer (at the rear of the trans) doubles as the front half of the u-loint housing.From the beginning of production Ford installed a fitting (1/8" pipe thread) in this casting.If the retainer was installed upside-down you will have to remove the lower floor board for access.
