: I recently picked up a pair of 1930 plates which need restoring.I would like to locate a reliable individual who does high quality restoration.Does anyone have any rxperience with restorations or recommendations as to who to hire?

Hey, give it a shot. Get plates bead blasted, peck out dents and straighten. If they need some welding or have some saw-tooth edges some one in a local club can do that (or a body shop for mucho$$$$$)! Paint the plates a heavy coat of lacquer or urethane THE COLOR OF THE NUMBERS! Then put a light coat of the background coat. Lightly sand the background coat off the numbers and high spots. A good coat of clear and you got'em. No big deal(except for the 10-12 hours all this business takes ya!!!!!)
