Bruce,

Ford did call those floor covering assemmblies carpets. The original material specification referred the the fabric as "tapestry".There are materials available today that simulate the original tapestry farely well except they are approximately twice as thick and the colors tend to be either to light or to dark in color, but not to objectionable. There are at least a couple of places that provide carpet assemblies in "kit" form made from these tapestries. The predominant company (the only one I'm familiar with) is LeBaron Bonney Co., in Amesbury, Ma.They are listed on the MAFCA website (link below). They also have an 800 number so you can call information (1-800-555-1212) for the number.

They have "simplified" many of their products over the years so I can't say how similar to original they will be, but should fit farely well.

If you have any of the original left in your Tudor please let me know.

Regards,

Marco
