FORD dealers in 1930/40

I wonder if someone from the board had some experience
with a FORD dealer in the early days of the MODEL A (a
mechanic,service manager,FORD service rep.?)
Today with the fax,phone,internet,etc,there are times that
one can get in doubt.
How was in those times?
In case of doubt you could ring to someone at FORD,asking
for some help?
Or you should write a letter to him?
You could get in touch right with the suplier (ZENITH?)
instead with the FORD?
What was the warranty in those times,the GOODWILL word
was in use?
