I recently purchased a 1929 South Dakota plate for my "A" in South Dakota. There were a lot of them availabile for $9-$10. It was very rusty and cracked. I took it to a friendly body shop and with about 5 minutes instruction and the use of their tools straightened it and removed the dents. The body man welded the cracks. I learned the colors, by a call to the State DMV and am preparing to paint it. It should look like new when done and was fun to do. Good Luck
