I have tried several water pumps and a couple even claimed to be leakless. This turned out to mean that it just took longer before they begin to leak. Having said that I took a chance a purchased the Extar heavy duty leakless advertising in the Restoer and Model A Trader.

The pump is very well made. The rear of the pump was remove and replaced with a stainless steel shaft. Then an alternator sealed bearing and water seal added. The front of the pump is machined for a sealed bearing and the front of the shaft is machined for a retaining clip.

It seems very well thought out and the whole pump is heaver than the stock unit. I installed the pump and drove it to Reno without a problem. Honeslty,it will take more than one trip to prove it out, But I have a lot more confedenice in this one than in any of the others.
