Dan -Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen version is a newer version, around 1973.A guy named Charlie Ryan had a hit with Hot Rod Lincoln in the summer of 1960.The Lincoln "had twelve cylinders - uses 'em all"(I think the Commander Cody audience may not have been familiar with a twelve cylinder Lincoln.) But it is the same song, different cylinder count!
Anyway - it was my favorite novelty song in the pre-Beatlesera of novelty songs.
