: I've recently installed a 1912 Aeromore exhaust whistle on my 30 tudor to use in parades. After two parades on the 4th of July the engine started to run very rough.I pulled the plugs and found they were fouled with lots of carbon. Was this caused by the long period at idle in the parades, back pressure on the engine by using the exhaust whistle or a too rich setting on the carb, or a combination of all three? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I have a friend who installed an aemore whistle on his T engine (newly overhauled engine) and had trouble with plug fouling.Turned out that the valve control linkage was not returning the blocking valve back to "neutral" resulting in partial blockage of the exhaust pipe.Took about 100 miles for the plugs to foul.Really had us baffled for awhile.

John
