: Why?Why does my '29 Tudor shimmy. It does so for about ten seconds for no apparent reason. It's sporadic, and without warning.Happens when I brake or speed up or slow down, any type of road. It's only occured 3-4 times.I can't feel any play in the front wheels.I'm new at this.Be gentle

STU,
This one of the most common problems with a Model A.There are two things you must understand..one, it will not go away. Two, it can be fixed. You will hear many suggestions on this board as how to correct the problem. In essence, each suggestion will deal with removing all play in the associated mechanisms, weather it be from wear or poor adjustment. And most of them will be correct.
My advise is to get yourself some of the books:ie, Jim Schild's or Les Andrews shop manuals or both. They are available from sources on the MAFCA/MARC WEB pages and from the various parts suppliers on the NET.And seek out a knowledgable person in a local Model A Club.Start at the tires and don't stop until you reach the steering wheel. This plan will do two things for you.One ..you will know how the steering and suspension systems work. Two...you will fix the problem. Have fun!
Paul
