Thanks Joe and Bob, my doors now fit a lot better!

: : My question basically is, does it take professionl body working skills to do the tricks needed to make this work?

: : The main problem area is where the latch hits the stricker. It has the right elevation, but the strickers a too far aft to
: : hit the latch just right. Are shims under the strickers something to consider?Any advise that can be offered will be greatly appreciated.

: Michael,
: No, it does not take professional skills to get the right results.Although a Model A "professional" might get the job done faster.
: Bob has given you some good pointers and I certainly would follow them.If however you find that the shims are correct for the basic door alignment but the problem is still there, try this:First, check the alignment of the front of the door with the cowl section. Is the gap even, top to bottom? And how wide is the gap?If it is close, like 1/16th or there about, the hinge can be bent to allow the door to be moved to the rear. This will allow you a better fit at the latch. The original hinges are soft and they will bend.I did it by using a 15" cresent(with tape on the jaws)slipped on the hinge (the part attached to the jamb, not the door)and twisted it clockise (on the right door)looking from the top.Go easy!!! It only takes a litle bit.I got very good results using this method. They close and align perfectly.
: Hope it helps,
: Have fun!
: Paul
