The engine has great compression, good fire, points, condensor, new lead wire, 4 different carbs(2 Zenith, Tillison, "B" Zenith), gas flow from tank is excellent, timing set according to specs, new rotor & cap, two different dist. bodies, and anything else we could think of.I have tried to read any similar questions on this board that pertains to the problem and have tried most of them.(2)Now for my problem; can someone give me a reason why the idle increases on my 30 Tudor after it has warmed up?I have seen this same problem on a Cabriolet and neither one of us can find the cause. Is there somewhere I can adjust the quardant rods or what?(3) Finally, I have looked the U-joint cover(behind the tranny) over and I find no where to grease it. Could it have be installed incorrectly and the grease fitting is at the top of the cover and if so, should I disassemble it and put it at the bottom? I assume that all U-Joints did have grease fittings since it talks about them in the books and says to shot a good amount of grease into the unit?

Regarding the U-Joint.Yes, the Main Shaft Bearing Retainer (u-joint adapter)A7085A can be installed with the hole for the grease zerk on the top.However, the casting for the shift rails of the transmission tower will not allow the installation of a zerk fitting.
I saw this problem (on a professionally restored car) and the options were to back the differential away slightly and install the retainer properly or to plug the hole at the top, drill and tap a new hole and install a zerk on the bottom.
We chose the latter.Due to the limited space, we made a plug simular to the one on the side of the engine for oil pump testing,ie: it had a screw driver slot in it. 6,000miles driving, no problems.
