:I will soon be ready to paint the hood which I have taken apart for my Town Sedan. The hood will be Ford maroon with new hood rods etc. The paint will be Lacquer as original.Do you paint both sides of the hood maroon or is the inside black? I'm concerned that the lacquer will chip.Is it best to put the hood rods on before painting or paint first and hope to get the rods in after? Thanks in advance once again for all your input. If it wasn't for all your help I don't believe I would have this model A together.
: Thanks Fred Murphy

Hi Fred..

In addition to what Bob said, yes, both sides of the hood are painted the same color. The underside was not black and not rubbed out like the top sides were.Stainless rods are the only way to go..Not original, but not observable either..
