: This is general and not to answer this post but to bring up a point.

: The filter talk seems to be leaning towards something equivelent to today's standards which is good but the model A's carb has an external bowl vent meaning the filter air flow is gradually reduced due to the collection of dirt, the car will run richer and richer because the vent sees the atmosphere pressure which is relatively higher than what the filter presents to the horn.

This is true and there was a good article on the way to change the venting in a Zentih carb in an article in the Restorer or Model A News a few years ago.It didn't look difficult. Also, You need to make sure you use a filter that has the CFM capacity to meet the Model A requirements.Again there is an article in the one of the "How to..." books covering the right size filter which I believe you could get from your local NAPA store.

: The solution is to put the vent inside the filter which presents the same "pressure" for the horn and vent. Ever notice the bowl vents when you take the filter of on your modern buggies, before EFI?

: Don't get me wrong, filtering is good but also consider the vent.
