Joe, I have also noticed that placing the battery on a piece of wood at least the thickness of a 2x4 is needed to keep the battery from going completely dead. We used to have snowmobiles in which the battery came out in the summer and if it did not get the board under the battery, the cement floor of the shop was a definate kiss of death.
