: It's been a while since I've painted cars and I think that I am out of date with my spray equipment.I would appreciate any suggestions as to type and brand of spray guns that are available. I would especially like any opinions as to the HPLV guns as how they compare to traditional equipment.I have a large compressor that should meet any air requirements.

: Thanks.
A good paint gun is expensive...and if you are only going to use it to paint your car..it would be a good idea to rent one...rental yards...or a automotive paint supply might rent good guns..here in Southern California we have to paint only in approved spray booths..local paint store rents one for $40 and it comes with a first class spray set-up...built in..

Another thought is your local Community College...do they have a paint booth..possibly a night class in auto body repair..I just got my 33 Chev. painted and it is super...took a long time but all I paid for was materials....heck take the class..
