Timing and horn

Could anyone explain the procedure for setting timing on an "A"? Also I have an interrmitent horn and was wondering what might be the cause of that? Additionally, I was curious as to what the proper ohm reading should be for the coil. I have managed to stop the flooding carb problem and installed new ignition parts. Should I have all the same make of plug installed or does it make that big of a difference? Runs better but still doesnt seem to make enough power...still feel s like its loading up in 3rd gear.
