I'm in Medford, just south of you (Hi neighbor).On a recent visit to MAFCA Technical Director Les Andrews ( tech@mafca.com) he showed me a couple of 1928-29 steering boxes he was converting to the 30-31 style gears.Although John's already answered your message, you may want to ask Les what he does to see if that might be something you could try.
