I was the one who posted the original question about a good original looking chassis paint. As you know most of the responses were focused on POR-15.I have my reservations about using it for a number of reasons.1) I understand that this product still needs to be topcoated as it is UV sensitive which means it will deteriorate in time from ultraviolet (sun) exposure. Many of the chassis parts on an A will see the light of day unlike modern day cars. This brings me to 2) this product is extremely hard that I don't know how a topcoat would bite and stay adhered to it.3) is the original look. This product is high gloss and I don't know for sure what the undercarriage of an A should look like but I doubt it was this glossy.

I agree with the above posting. Before I put in the money and effort of painting my chassis with POR-15 I need some further reassurance that it is the right choice.:
: Before we get carried away with thinking that one type of product is better than another for rust control, does anybody have reliable data provided by an independent lab that can actually quantify that POR-15 is really as good as the manufacturer claims it is and how does it compare to products offered by other manufacturers?
