: I have a 1928 Tudor Sedan that idles and runs just fine but : after going around the block and its warms up it starts running 'rough', bucking and jumping around. It still idles : fine but when you put it under a load is when the rough, bucking and overall bad performance occurs.... HELP,, any ideas??? is it the coil, timing or carburation???? dave---something else i should have mentioned earlier---this also is not common, but i've seen it happen---sometimes one of the wires from battery or ign. switch to coil or coil to dist. primary will be at fault---either the wire will corrode inside a terminal or the wire, having been under a condition of vibration for years, will have fatigued, and a number of the strands will have broken. in either case the wire, or the wire-to-terminal connection will act as a resistor, causing a voltage drop under load. this may be seen with a volt-meter-but its a bit of a nuisance to watch the meter under full-load conditions.--- in my opinion the relatively small expense for new wiring would be cheap at the price, if only to avoid a possible failure in future. hope this helps carla |
