G'Day Al,
Rather than testing the flasher unit, you could connect the power wire to the switch wire if its a two pin unit & operate the direction switch. This would then tell if your wiring is OK as the flashers would light up, but not flash. If this works then the unit is at fault.

: I finally decided to install directional signals and when done found no flashing lights. Logic and measurements points to the flasher itself. Is there a simple and safe way to check out a 6 volt flasher?
