: Glen:Could you please verify that I understand the concept of the adjustments to the steering box. I'm looking at the Model A Ford Service Bulletin - Complete(Yellow)book.
YEP.

Hopefully, we will be singing out of the same book.I'm on bulleting page 318(New Steering Gear) and page 99 of the book. pertaining to 2 tooth sector adjustments. If this is the wrong place, please let me know.
: 1. Sector Thurst Screw-Your ideal of filing the end sound like a good ideal to me since i may be off center from the shaft. This adjustment then is used to take the endplay out of the sector shaft only. Correct?
YEP.

: 2. Here's where I become confused about the process. Page 99 of the book, bottom right corner, it says "First see that housing cover nuts(see Fig 638) are securely tightened." Now, if I understand what you are saying, I am to loosen these nuts to do the eccentric adjustment. Are we talking different nuts or what?
Sounds like the same, now you're going to make me get the good book out so I can get ya answered tommorrow but those nuts need to be loose in order for the housing to move via the eccentric.

: 3. I further assume that the Worm Adjusting Screw is only to place down pressure on the Worm Gear. Am I correct?

Yes, here's another tip, make sure cup that the screw goes to is positioned to accept the screw. Just pull the screw and look, should be a "dimple" if it looks smooth the cup could be rotated, for some reason I've came across this a couple times.
Another tip is to loosen the clamp bolt on the housing and the clamp bolt on the column... make adjustment...tighten clamps and check.
: I'm sorrey to be such a bother, but this is the first A-model I have ever worked on and this steering thing is about to drive me crazy. Thanks in advance for the help. Frank - Knoxville,TN

Not a bother, I have to remember to grab the book in the morning, and hopefully you'll be driving your lady and not crazy!
