Dave,

I have been running the "600W" available from Bratton's Antique Auto for a long time.I use the stuff for my tranny, my rear axle, and my steering box.The car shifts "smooth n' easy" with this stuff and it doesn't leak out. That's all I need to know...Don't care what's in it.

PS
: Okay, I've read all of the articles on gear oil, 600W, etc. This time I'll pay attention! What's the concensus out there for lubricant for the transmission and rear end?I thought I would top up what's in the car now.Do I remember one trusted sage recommending SAE140 for the purpose seeing how no one's really sure what's really IN 600W?Thanks for your help.Dave.
